Belle Vue is so well placed that you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to exploring. There’s beautiful countryside all around. Head to market in the medieval hilltop towns or cycle to sleepy villages. Visit classic vineyards, impressive chateaux, prehistoric sites, or even try a round of golf on the rustic course in the meadows of Saint Etienne! The elegant cities of Bergerac, Bordeaux and Sarlat are all within easy reach too.

Travel by car, bicycle, on foot, horseback or perhaps hire a canoe for a day’s paddling and swimming up the Dordogne and Lot rivers. Villereal’s lively ramblers group warmly welcomes holiday visitors on its weekly walks. And in Villereal you’ll find trotting races at the hippodrome, tennis courts, fishing permits, windsailing, a sandy beach and supervised swimming in the large local lake.

Villereal is at the heart of a region of four other ‘bastides’; medieval walled towns, which also played an important part during the Hundred Years War. Nearby Castilliones, Beaumont, Monpazier and Monflanquin all have friendly traditional markets, cafes and restaurants too.
